Tardy and No-Call No-Show Policy

Redeemer values punctuality and reliable attendance. The policy below outlines the procedures for tardiness and instances of no-call no-show.

Scope

This policy applies to all Redeemer Team Members (employees, residents, and mobilizers) for events or meetings where attendance is required.

Supervisor's Responsibility

Supervisors are responsible for communicating expectations, monitoring attendance, and enforcing this policy consistently and fairly.

Expectations

1. Tardiness:

  • Team members are expected to arrive on time for all events and meetings. Times are announced well in advance.
  • If a team member anticipates being late, they must notify their supervisor at least 15 minutes before the start time.
  • A 5-minute grace period is allowed.

2. No-Call No-Show:

  • A "no-call no-show" occurs when an employee fails to provide proper notification of absence. No-call No show incidents are considered a significant violation of this policy and any occurrence may result in termination of employment.
    • This policy will include:
      • Any unnotified absence where an employee missed the entirety of a scheduled meeting, event, or workday.
        • Ex: Student/College Gathering, re|engage, Men’s Prayer, Membership Class, etc.

Disciplinary Action

1. Tardiness:

  • First instance: Verbal warning and coaching
  • Second instance: Written warning
  • Third instance: Final written warning
  • Fourth instance: May result in a performance improvement plan or termination

Note: Tardiness instances reset after a rolling 12-month period.

2. No-Call No-Show:

  • First offense: Final written warning, and/or may result in termination
  • Second offense: May result in termination of employment

Note: No-call no-show offenses are tracked for the duration of employment.

Mitigating Factors

When determining disciplinary action, supervisors alongside HR Director may consider:

  • The team member's overall performance and attendance record
  • Extenuating circumstances (i.e. family emergencies, severe weather, etc.)
  • The impact of tardiness or absence on operations and team morale

Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to ensure fairness and effectiveness.
